Cakified: Dark Chocolate Cake Bite dipped in White Chocolate
I met Hank Hedland owner of Cakified, a new LA-based bakery, at a fundraiser recently (I was a volunteer, Hank was donating his gorgeous desserts). A native of North Dakota, Hank has a middle-America heart combined with a modern West Coast aesthetic. It means that his desserts taste great (lots of butter, sugar and chocolate) – the whole middle America – we know what desserts should be made of sensibility, combined with a California look that is so stunning you can’t decide whether you should eat the gorgeous morsels, or frame them. He makes these delightful little treats he calls “cake bites.” They come in a zillion colors and flavor combinations and would make perfect desserts at a wedding, baby shower or splashy party. My kids LOVED them. And I cannot say enough good things about Hank. Seriously. He’s got a great heart – you can tell from the moment you meet him and his warm spirit gets baked right into his products. If you’re in or around LA, give him a shout. Cakified.

I was lucky enough to take Cakified’s stuff yesterday too – and it was OUTSTANDING. And I rarely say that about other people’s baked goods. Cannot wait to throw a party worthy of a tray of those cake bites!
