Suzy Lou Who Bars from Susan the Baker

One of the things I enjoy about food blogging is that I have the opportunity to meet so many people who work in the food industry.  As I’ve mentioned previously, my father has been in and out of the food business for the last 20 years.  I know first-hand how hard you have to work to succeed.  Susan Savage, aka “Susan the Baker,” is new to the food business and clearly has a great shot at food stardom.  Susan was a working actress for many years, and has always been involved in her community (she has done lots of great work as a Tree People advocate).  She was asked to be one of the actors participating in a bake-sale benefit for the Obama Presidential campaign.  Her “Obama bars” were a total sell out, beating out lots of tasty treats being sold by big name LA bakeries.  Recently re-named Suzy Lou Who Bars, they are her signature product and helped her launch her baking business.  I’ve tried her Triple Chocolate Ginger Decadence Cookies, her amazing Lemon Zest Bars and her No Better Bark Toffee, and it’s all truly first-rate.  Even though I’m an obsessive baker myself, I asked Susan to cater a recent fancy dinner party I had to throw on short notice.  She showed up at my doorstep with such an amazing bunch of baked goodies, I nearly wept!  If you aren’t a baker, need to throw a dinner party, office function, or birthday party – give Susan the Baker a shout.  And tell her I sent you!
