Laurie - I am so glad to hear it and thanks so much for posting the comment. You have a wonderful brother. What a kind and lovely thing to do with his nieces. I love being in the kitchen with relatives. I spent a lot of time as a kid in the kitchen cooking with my grandmother, sister and parents and those experiences form many of my favorite family memories. Good for Wally for creating those same sorts of memories for your girls.
Cheers to all of you,
Rachel

Rachel,

My brother Wally came all the way from L.A. to Alameda (near SF), to make the chicken/zucchini fritters with my daughters, his nieces, last night. I said, "why don't you take them out to eat?" But he insisted, "No...I've got the perfect recipe in mind." They were DELICIOUS and much bonding in the kitchen was had by all. Nice site!

Staci:
I would be delighted to help. I'm crazed through Monday - it's my Adult Bat Mitzvah on Saturday and I'm practicing chanting in Hebrew!! Once Monday comes I promise to sit down and write you a thoughtful note. I think I'll even write a whole blog post about how to engage kids in the kitchen. So glad to make your virtual acquaintance. More from me next week.

Hi Rachel! I'm so glad I found your blog. Lovely recipes! I'm very eager to get my kids cooking in the kitchen (they are 4 and 2.5) :) I've searched the web looking for ideas and concepts to help get them cooking. (I'm a teacher by trade and therefore I tend to follow a plan other than fly by the seat of my pants.) Anyway...I was wondering how you got your boys involved. Did they cook with you whatever you were making or did you make special recipes for them to create (when they were young like mine) I'd love for you to email me any tips or advice you have for me. Can't wait to cook along side my girls like you and your sons! :) Thanks again.
